Install Fedora from an USB stick

Instate of burning an reburning DVD, the idea is to create from Windows a bootable USB stick acting like a bootable DVD.

 

  • Making the USB stick bootable

    • Using HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool format the USB key.

     

  • Get SYSLINUX boot loader

    • Install syslinux.exe

     

  • Copy Fedora install image to the USB stick

    • Download Fedora. A tool like 7zip can be used to extract the files from the ISO image to the USB stick.

     

  • Install SYSLINUX as boot loader

    • Work in progress

     

  • Configure SYSLINUX
